How do I use my MINI BOOM with a computer?

Connect the MINI BOOM with a computer

You can connect your MINI BOOM to a Macintosh or PC that has Bluetooth capabilities.

Macintosh

1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.

2. Open the Bluetooth preference pane.

3. Click “+” to add a new Bluetooth device.

4. Turn the speaker on.

5. Hold down the Bluetooth button on top of the speaker until you hear a tone.

NOTE: The Bluetooth connection button will blink rapidly, meaning the speaker is ready for pairing.

6. Select MINI BOOM from the list of available devices and click Continue.

IMPORTANT: The MINI BOOM can also be a speakerphone. Macintosh OS sets it as a headset device by default.

To set MINI BOOM as a stereo speaker on your Mac:

1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences.

2. Select Sound.

3. On the Output tab, you’ll see both “MINI BOOM Stereo” and “MINI BOOM”. Select “MINI BOOM Stereo”.

4. Close System Preferences.

PC

1. Turn the speaker on.

2. Hold down the Bluetooth button on top of the speaker until you hear a tone.

NOTE: The Bluetooth connection button will blink rapidly, meaning the speaker is ready for pairing.

3. Open your Control Panel.

4. Select Hardware and Sound.

5. Select Devices and Printers.

6. Select Bluetooth Devices.

7. Click Add a device.

8. Select MINI BOOM from the list of devices, and then click next.

NOTE: If the Bluetooth Device Control window opens, expand the Headset type menu and select “My hands-free device MINI BOOM does not have a display”. Then, click Apply.

Once your speaker is paired and connected, you’ll have to select the MINI BOOM as the default playback device in the Windows Sound settings. Here’s how:

1. Open your Control Panel.

2. Select Hardware and Sound.

3. Select Manage audio devices (under Sound).

4. Select “Speakers Bluetooth Hands-free Audio” and click Set Default.

5. Click OK.
